This historic preservation project of the Mortimer E. Cooley Bridge in Manistee, MI. involved rehabilitation and preventive maintenance the structure.
Constructed in 1934, the MEC Bridge is one of the only two cantilevered deck truss bridges in Michigan. The bridge consists of three spans, totaling 613 feet in length with the main section spanning 300 feet.
C.A. Hull’s work on this project consisted of a full cleaning and coating of the bridge, structural steel repairs, riveting, pack rust removal, concrete restoration, and an epoxy overlay. This project also consisted of hot mix asphalt cold milling and resurfacing, and concrete paving, as well as curb, gutter, and sidewalk reconstruction.
